Scuba Classes
Home

We are a PADI Scuba training facility, offering courses from basic open water diver all the way up to Scuba Instructor.
Our enclosed pool is right next door to the dive shop. With dive shop, classroom, and pool just up the hill from the lake where you complete open water dives, Scuba certification can be completed in less time (sometimes as quickly as three days), and nearly any time of the year.

Welcome to Captain John's
Dive Bluewater in Oronogo, Missouri
Captain John's Sports and Scuba is one of Missouri's premier dive spots and PADI Scuba training facilities. With the dive shop, classroom, and enclosed pool just up the hill from the lake, training is more convenient and often-times quicker than other dive shops. And with areas of the lake reaching depths of over 200 feet, complete with caves and tunnels, Captain John's is great for tech diving.
Whether you're an experienced Scuba diver or are interested in getting started, Captain John's Sports and Scuba has plenty to discover.

WOW, big story is lots of rain. Set a new record for June by almost 4 inches above the previous record set in 1932. At one point we had 8 inches of water over the deck of the new dock. From the loweest I had ever seen the lake to the highest in less than one year. AS the water drops the surface vis is really improving. With all the springs running full, vis at depth is really great right now and the surface is improving daily.
